President, Jean Schumm
I want to help parents restore their confidence, connect with other parents and create momentum that will change the culture for generations to come!
Years ago I was struggling as the mother of teenagers. For the first time in my life I felt incompetent & unsure of myself as a parent. I eventually realized I could either continue to be a naive & reactive parent, or make an effort to understand today’s culture & become a proactive parent. I also learned that I was not the only parent who felt insecure when it came to raising teenagers. Operation: PARENT has been an incredible blessing to me because I no longer feel insecure or alone standing up to today’s culture. I believe awareness & education will make the difference for all of us.
Co-Chairman, Bill Howard
I am honored to have been the first Chairman of an organization with such a worthwhile cause that we need to share with parents across the nation.
My wife, Jill and I have a blended family of four boys and fully understand the challenges families face today, and we are both committed to Operation: PARENT’s mission. I enjoy serving my community and currently serve on the board for The American Red Cross, The Boys Scouts, Trinity High School, University of Dayton, Oldham Chamber and Economic Development and The Bank of Oldham County.
As CEO/Founder of Fastline Publications, I’ve been blessed to watch a company that started on our kitchen table grow into an international company serving the agricultural industry. Since 1978, Fastline has grown from a publication serving the heavy-‐duty trucking industry to its current 22 publications covering the U.S., as well as operations in Mexico and Brazil, and now has the largest database of farm equipment (Fastline.com) in the world.
Director of Legal Affairs & Secretary, Anne Courtney Coorssen
Having a resource like Operation: PARENT in our district has the potential to dramatically change the lives of these students and their families through education, encouragement and engagement.
As General Counsel for the Oldham County Board of Education, I am frequently in contact with school administrators and parents struggling with difficult student issues. I have been an attorney for 16 years and have lived in the Jefferson/Oldham County area for 13 years. My husband, Jim, and I are raising two young daughters (and an old dog) and look forward to implementing the strategies and insights I’ve learned through Operation: PARENT as they grow into young adults.
Director of Development, Jill Howard
I first was introduced to the p101 Parent to Parent program offered by OP while raising our boys. I realized quickly that other parents needed this information and became a facilitator of their p101 class. With only one son at home now, I’ve been afforded the time to serve on several committee’s and currently am working on their Fund Development Committee. There isn’t a more deserved organization out there than Operation: PARENT to serve in some capacity. It puts a smile on my face to help them succeed:)

“I am excited about joining Operation: PARENT, and I look forward to working with Jean Schumm and the board at OP to help make a difference in the lives of parents and children.”
After taking several career-related transfers that moved our family from Texas to California and New York, my wife, Jina, and I moved to Louisville in 1997. We are the parents of 5 children (1 boy and 4 girls) ranging in age from 20 down to 10. With two in college, 1 in high school and 1 in middle school, we are well aware of the challenges that face teenagers in today’s culture, and the incredible differences between their world today and the world that we grew up in. I am excited about joining Operation: PARENT, and I look forward to working with Jean Schumm and the board at OP to help make a difference in the lives of parents and children.

As co-founder of The Morton Center I’m thankful to bring over 41 years of experiences in chemical dependency and addiction to an organization motivated to help parents. Lives change when you supply families with the resources to raise awareness and the heartfelt compassion that there is hope… and that is exactly the motivation behind this organization.

“The bulk of my practice is working with students and their families to help learn how to navigate thru those challenging teen years. Operation: PARENT is aligned with both my professional and personal values and I look forward to being a part of this and getting it on the Indiana side..”

The passion of Operation: PARENT combines two of my personal passions – students and their families and the community of Oldham County.
I currently serve as the Family Pastor to Students at LaGrange Baptist Church and have worked in this position for 5 years. Prior to this I received my graduate degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and my undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University. The combination of my job in working with middle and high school students and my wife working as a teacher at Oldham County High School puts me around a lot of different teenagers and their families. I have also lived in LaGrange (Oldham County) my entire life. The passion of Operation: PARENT combines two of my personal passions – students and their families and the community of Oldham County.
