1. Be clear about your own sexual values, share them early and often with your teen.
2. Supervise and monitor your teen, set boundaries.
3. Know your teen's friends and their families.
4. Discourage early, frequent and steady dating.
5. Take a strong stand against your teen dating someone much older/younger than they.
6. Help your teen to know the dangers of sexual activity and their consequences.
7. Let your kids know that you value education highly and make that a priority.
8. Be a student of your teen, know what they watch, read and listen to.
9. Build a close relationship with your children.
10. Abstinence is the only 100% effective form of birth control.
