MySpace, My Kids

Many of our kids are using online social networking sites. The amount of teens using the sites is so high that MySpace has even recently created a high school-only corner of the site. This is an effort to protect minors.

Although fun, these sites can be potentially dangerous. The sites are designed to meet people, but you have no idea who you're really talking to. Users can lie about their age, whereabouts, intentions and more (your teen can also lie and say they're an adult!).

Try setting up your own accounts on some of the most popular sites. This will give you a better understanding of what the site does and how you make sure you're teen is protected.
